- 22YES – in most cases. Under Australian law: AS 3745:2010 is referenced by WHS and Fire Safety legislation across all states and territories. If a building is workplace, public, commercial, or accommodation, evacuation diagrams are legally mandatory. Not mandatory only in limited cases: Class 1a private homes (unless required by insurer or council) If people work, stay, visit, study, shop, or receive care in the building – diagrams are almost always mandatory.
